In Clamshell each user has an assigned role. (Accounts Payable, Project Management, etc…) Each role then has certain permissions for what members of that role may access in Clamshell.

You can view the Roles page by clicking on the name of your company on the home screen. Here, you may add a “NewRole” or “Edit” and existing role.

Then, you can assign roles when creating or editing users on the Users page.

Can I export my reports in Clamshell and send them in an email?

Yes! Find the Excel/PDF buttons to download the report your are viewing.

Clamshell also has support for sending emails directly to subcontractors:

Click on the name of your company, and then go to Email Settings.
Configure your email settings. (Clamshell support can assist with this.)
Configure the template emails to send to subcontractors and purchase order vendors. (Clamshell support can also assist with this.)
Head to an approved Subcontractors Billing and click the “Send Emails” button. Or, navigate to an individual subcontractor and click the “Send Email” button.

How do I access my Invoice Approvals Report?

Clamshell automatically calculates the amount payable to subcontractors based on completed billing items, subcontractor change orders, and withholds.

Once you approve the Clamshell subcontractors billing, payable subcontractors from across your company are added to the Unpaid Subcontractors Log. Subcontractors are removed from the log once marked paid.

Your accounts payable and certified payroll departments can leave comments on this log as they work through Clamshell’s Invoice Approval process. This process ensures that Subcontractors are in compliance (releases signed, warranties submitted) before they are paid.

Clamshell can also generate subcontractor payment histories and summaries by project.

How do I access Schedule of Values?

You can access the Scheduled of Values after creating a new project by clicking on “Schedule of Values.” There are three ways to get data into the Schedule of Values:

Input the data manually through Clamshell. Clamshell has ergonomic data entry for SOVs. Create automatically sorted divisions, categories, and easily input multiple items. You may wish to set up Subcontactors beforehand under “Subcontracts SOV.”
Import an AIA 703 document. Click the “Import AIA 703” button in “Schedule of Values.” Follow Clamshell’s instructions to complete this process.
Paste SOVs for each subcontractor of off Excel spreadsheets. (For example, if Subcontractors email you these spreadsheets.) Click the “Paste Sub SOV” button and follow the instructions.

How do I access Progress Billings?

Once your project is set up, you must approve the Base Contract to start creating Progress Billings. Head to “Schedule of Values” and click “Approve."

To create a Progress Billing, head to the “Progress Billings” screen, and click “New Progress Billing.” Progress Billings are maintained in the order in which you create them.

When you enter data in one Progress Billing, it is automatically carried over to the next Progress Billing. If you change data in a previous Progress Billing, that change is carried over to subsequent billings, unless that data has been subsequently updated.
